Our History
Climate Action Frodsham emerged in 2020 from a group of active citizens and activists who had been working for years under the name Frodsham Transition Initiative. We changed our group's name to better reflect who we are today, and how we desire to respond to the Climate emergency.
Much of the information on this page, while interesting, is historical in nature, and may not reflect who Climate Action Frodsham are today.

About Frodsham Transition Initiative...
The purpose of Frodsham Transition Initiative (FTI) was to help the community of Frodsham transition to a more sustainable way of life and to become happier and more resilient in the face of global uncertainties.
We are linked with the wider UK national Transition Network. At committee level in September 2020 we agreed to use the working name of Climate Action Frodsham due to an agreed need for clarity over our objectives. |
The Transition Network is now a charitable organisation operating internationally, whose role is to inspire, encourage, connect, support and train communities as they self-organise around the Transition model, creating initiatives that rebuild resilience and reduce CO2 emissions.
Ultimately it’s about creating a healthy human culture, one that meets our needs for community, livelihoods and fun. |
Frodsham Transition Initiative intends to be a community-led process that helps Frodsham become stronger and happier. FTI involves a community action programme to transition to a more sustainable lifestyle for the benefit of both present and future generations.

Because of the wide range of views of the attendees it was not possible to get a clear yes/no , but the general view appeared to be in rough order:

Because of the wide range of views of the attendees it was not possible to get a clear yes/no , but the general view appeared to be in rough order:
- We should have more "public" say in what projects are planed locally.
- That we need more local sustainable energy sources from renewables.
- If we must still use fossil fuels in the interim then to keep them as clean and safe as possible.
